One audience segments for LiftMaster is the home builder industry, as many builders typically install a garage door opener in the garage. They tend to see it as a comodity product and low cost item and buy the basic entry-level model. We were asked to create a campaign that had them rethink the value of the opener and purchase a premium opener.

The message focused on the fact that there is a shift in cutomer expectations, and that built-in smart home technology can actually be a selling point and create value. Working with my copywriter, we found some interesting statistics to back up this claim and show it's actually a large majority of new home buyers favor this technology.
I came up with the idea of showing the percentage or number of people as units of measure and highlight it visually. The tape measure speaks directly to the construction and carpentry industry, and the reverse called out number denotes an imortant unit of measurement on a tape measure.
