LiftMaster included a full page media buy in Security Dealers Magazine. This is a trade publication for the residential security dealer industry. The goal was to create a visually impactful ad that showcases the partnership between LiftMaster and Alarm.com to raise awareness of the advantage of carring connected products to complete the smart home security system.

This ad took two iterations to get it perfect (shown here in reverse order).
The first version I did focused on a powerful image of a lock and chain representing not only security, but also "locking up" the sale to increase their business. Liftmaster's app controls the garage door operator and can be a critical key to security. I used a mobile phone as the body of the lock to tell the story of the connectivity. The client felt that while it was a powerful ad, it needed to represent the partnership more.
In the second version, I focused on the fact that both LiftMaster and Alarm.com both use mobile apps to monitor and control their systems. The idea of the lock is a very strong symbol for the security industry, so I wanted to keep that. I came up with the concept that the two could be interlocked to show their relationship and the iphones to show their connectivity. I added the wifi signal to support the connectivity story, but it also it adds the emotion of shared love between the two, that you would normally represent with a heart.
The client loved how this simply depicts their relationship and quickly gets to the point of how both systems work together to form a whole smart home security system.
