The objective was to create a campaign on campus that would get people truly talking about what diversity and inclusion means in an education environment. It also had to highlight the value of it within the community and drive people to actively encourage inclusive sharing of their diverse views and experiences.

I focused on the fact that we all have a role to participate and share, not just be physically present in a group. Therefore the design incorporates a figure in negative space to represent that without participating they are present but still missing. The figure in a lab coat represents both faculty and students and the gender and ethnicity is neutral to represent all.
We started with hanging a banner in the main hallway for two weeks, with just the graphic and no words, which fueled talk and interest what it could mean or represent. We kept the meaning secret (even among staff) until we hung up the posters and flyers throughout campus to reveal the whole campaign.
The campaign was a big success, which had the student population and faculty talking about the subject. It built awareness on campus to take positive steps for diversity and inclusion, and faculty stated that minority and LGBT students began to share more of their experiences and views when discussing healthcare in core subject discussions.
